Sydney Castines

Success Story

Sydney Castines is a college student at Lander University in Greenwood, S.C. While driving back to campus one day, she was in a terrible car accident. She suffered several fractures along her dominant right side, including her right arm and leg, and three pelvic fractures. After several surgeries to repair her injuries, it was evident that Sydney needed rehabilitation to be able to walk and take care of herself again.

Sydney and her parents chose Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital (GRRH) for her rehabilitation, and Sydney believes it was the best decision they could have made.

“After the wreck and all the surgeries, I had to relearn to walk again,” she says. “The physical and occupational therapists were a vital part of my recovery. They were so supportive and nice. They met me where I was physically and mentally. They pushed me, but didn’t force me to do things I wasn’t yet capable of doing. They were fantastic! Thanks to GRRH, I walked out of their facility on my own two feet.”

Currently, Sydney is at home and improving every day. She is taking online classes and looking forward to graduating from Lander University in the upcoming semester.
