Meet Our Leaders

Kristin Manske, Chief Executive Officer

Kristin Manske has been the chief executive officer at Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital since 2015, and prior to that she was the director of therapy at Spartanburg Rehabilitation Institute since opening in August 2013. Kristin stays active in the Greenwood community with involvement in the Greenwood Rotary Club, Greenwood Chamber of Commerce, and the Greenwood Geriatric Center. She is a member of the South Carolina Hospital Association and serves on their Regional Leadership Council. In 2021, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the South Carolina Research Authority.

In 2021, Kristin achieved her master of business administration degree in healthcare management from Western Governors University. She received her doctorate in physical therapy from Daemen College in Buffalo, NY in 2004 and received her Certified Wound Specialist status through The American Academy of Wound Management in 2005.

Art Kirkland, Director of Marketing and Business Development

Art has over 14 years of experience in healthcare leadership and marketing and 10 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and special needs. Art’s passion for helping others is on display daily as he works to insure those in need of physical rehabilitation have the knowledge of services provided in their community and access to those services.

A licensed social worker, Art earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.

Art resides in Greenwood, SC, and enjoys serving his community as an active Rotarian and spending time with his wife, Julie, and their twin daughters, Mackenzie and Taylor.

Dr. Clifford A. Monda, Medical Director

Dr. Monda’s passion is creating a welcoming environment for patients and their families while they receive care.

Dr. Monda received his medical degree at West Virginia School of osteopathic medicine and residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Spain Rehabilitation Center.

Dr. Monda specializes in acute rehabilitation for stroke, neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries, and bone and joint diseases. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and has extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.

He and his family reside in Greenwood, S.C.

Rich Hujus, Director of Facilities Management

Rich has been in the facilities operations field for more than 26 years. He’s committed to making sure our patients are safe and comfortable.

Rich is a FEMA Incident Command ICS-300 trained safety officer, and he leads our team’s Hospital Incident Command System for emergency response. Before joining our team, he served as director of facilities operations & safety for a long-term skilled nursing facility and as director of plant operations for a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Upstate New York.

Rich is an active member of the National Fire Protection Association and American Society for Healthcare Engineering.

Michelle Watkins, Human Resources Director

Michelle brings 15 years of experience to the hospital as an HR and payroll professional, having served in various human resources roles prior to working with our hospital. She is passionate about HR initiatives that improve the performance and growth of employees.

Michelle earned an associate’s degree in business with an emphasis in marketing from Piedmont Technical College. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in organizational management with a concentration in human resources from Charleston Southern University. In addition, Michelle obtained her master’s degree in human resources development in 2021 from Clemson University.

Michelle is married to her husband of more than 14 years, with whom she has two sons.

Elizabeth Bencebi, Director of Compliance

Elizabeth has over 9 years of nursing experience in varied settings. She brings passion and commitment to her work every day. She oversees quality and regulatory compliance at GRRH, working to ensure that we provide the very best care to each person in our hospital.

Elizabeth earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Erskine College in Due West, SC before going on to earn a nursing degree from Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood SC. Elizabeth lives with her husband Brian and their two children Layla and Jackson in Greenwood.

Jessica Lawson, Director of Nursing Operations

Jessica graduated from Lander University with her bachelors of science in nursing. Jessica began her nursing career on a Medical/ Surgical floor. She quickly realized she enjoyed teaching. She spent a lot of her time precepting new grads and later took a position as a clinical instructor for both Lander University and Piedmont Technical College nursing students.

Jessica began her career at Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in 2014 as a house supervisor. She was then promoted to Nurse Manger before being promoted to her current role as Director of Nursing Operations.

Jessica is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and a member of S.C. Association of Rehabilitation Nurses. She is passionate about staff education and patient outcomes.
