Susan Wiener

Success Story

Born in Long Island, N.Y., Susan Wiener moved to the South and worked as a special education teacher for 20 years prior to retirement. For the past three years, she has lived in an assisted living facility in Greenwood, S.C.

Recently, Susan fell and suffered four fractures to her pelvis. She experienced excruciating pain, causing the inability to walk. “At first, I hurt so bad that I couldn’t lift my right foot off the floor,” she says.

Susan chose Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital for her rehabilitative care:

“From the moment I rolled through the hospital doors, I knew I picked the right place,” she says. “I felt like I was part of a community and not just a patient in a bed. The nurses, techs, therapists, and doctors were so caring. It was truly a great experience.”

Susan says she especially enjoyed the pool therapy and looked forward to every session. “The pool was such pleasurable experience,” Susan says. “It helped my recovery immensely.”

Following intensive treatment at the hospital, Susan is doing much better. “It feels good to be back on my own two feet again and not in constant pain,” she says.
