Healing Innovations Launches Partnership with Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital to Enhance Patient Recovery
Greenwood, South Carolina – Healing Innovations, Inc., a leading provider of advanced neurorehabilitation technology, is excited to announce its recent partnership with Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, part of the Ernest Health network. This collaboration brings cutting-edge technology to patients throughout South Carolina and Georgia, enhancing the hospital’s state-of-the-art rehabilitation services.
Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital provides specialized inpatient care to patients recovering from serious injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions. Known for its patient-centered approach, Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital was nationally recognized among America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers in 2024 by Newsweek, further cementing its role as a healthcare leader. With the introduction of Healing Innovations’ Rise&Walk® technology, the hospital is poised to advance its offerings, particularly in neurorehabilitation.
The Rise&Walk® is an innovative rehabilitation station that integrates upper and lower extremity exercises to support patients with neurological impairments. The system combines robotic-assisted gait training, seated activities, and balance exercises to stimulate neuroplasticity and facilitate functional recovery. By incorporating this technology, Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital can offer new recovery opportunities for patients seeking to regain mobility and independence.
“At Healing Innovations, we are honored to collaborate with a facility like Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital that shares our passion for improving patient outcomes,” said Luke Benda, CEO of Healing Innovations. “By introducing the Rise&Walk® system, we’re able to provide patients with an unparalleled opportunity to accelerate their recovery and regain independence.”
Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital’s comprehensive services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy, case management and rehabilitative nursing and medical care. This partnership with Healing Innovations allows the hospital to integrate groundbreaking technology with its dedicated care teams, ultimately providing patients with a superior rehabilitation experience.
One patient of Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital who has benefited from the Rise&Walk® is Phil Frick, a 75-year-old distribution manager from Newberry, South Carolina. Phil was diagnosed with thoracic and cervical stenosis with myelopathy, or spinal cord compression. He underwent a lumbar decompression and fusion as recommended by his neurosurgeon. Following surgery, he returned home but experienced a fall that resulted in a leg fracture, leading him to Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital (GRRH) for specialized rehabilitative care.
Upon arrival at GRRH, Phil couldn’t walk or stand and became tired easily during activities. During his stay, he worked with the hospital’s interdisciplinary healthcare team who developed an individualized treatment plan to help him achieve his goals of walking and regaining independence in activities of daily living. His physical therapy included gait-training with Rise&Walk® to aid his recovery. After completing his treatment at the hospital, Phil now walks with a walker, is able to feed himself, and can complete most activities of daily living independently or with modifications.
“We are thrilled to partner with Healing Innovations and introduce the Rise&Walk® technology to our rehabilitation program,” said Kristin Manske, CEO of Greenwood Regional Rehabilitation Hospital. “This partnership reflects our commitment to staying at the forefront of medical advancements and offering the highest level of care to the communities we serve. We look forward to seeing how this technology will help our patients achieve their recovery goals.”
